one-to-one tailored tutoring services to advanced

writers, so they discover their voice in print;

inspires parents and other educator,

through workshops and

staff development, how to develop a community of

writers; provides younger writers clarity of a systematic

process of writing through sensory systems,

body movement, and collaboration.

Sheila Beverly is a Writing Specialist; B.A. of English; M.Ed. Reading Education; Coursework A&T State University-Adult Education; Executive Manager of Kinesthetic Solutions Writing Center, LLC. “Empowering Voice in Print,” since 2017. She is a 1988 graduate of Albany State University, obtaining a Bachelor’s of English Degree and a M.Ed. of Reading from Appalachian State University. Most recently, a contributing writer to: My Big Sister Said Life Lessons for Your Journey by Ashleigh Hargrave; writer of the Foreword in Dr. Pamela Simmons, Women’s Prayer Book; an anonymous contributing writer in other religious text, and finally, author of: Rethinking Writing – One Word at a Time, Eight Parts of Speech Supplemental Activities and Resources Workbook, (in publishing). She retired from the W-S Forsyth County School System with 25 years of experience as an English Teacher along with fourteen of those years as a Yearbook Advisor. She has been an Adjunct Instructor at Forsyth Technical Community College and Winston-Salem State University. Her teacher training was done at Florida State University; she also taught Freshmen Composition and tutored College students in the Writing Center. Her Elementary School Experience: Triad Academy, taught K-12, collaborating with, and teaching tactile learners, (Inception of Grammar Bubble Manipulative Toy 2002). She also taught Drama, English, and Reading, (fifth-twelfth grades). The Pilot Program using the Grammar Bubble Manipulative Toy was at St. Peters Center for Comprehensive Services (Summer Enrichment Program). Lastly , she was columnist at AC Phoenix Newspaper for 5 years.

Teri Lewis, with 34 years of teaching experience in the WS/FC School System, plus four years of teaching part-time at Forsyth Country Day School, brings extensive writing knowledge to the Kinesthetic Solutions team. Now retired, she still enjoys tutoring students to help them reach their potential and is excited to be working again with Sheila Beverly as a part of Kinesthetic Writing Center. Creative writing is also a passion. During her teaching career, Teri attended workshops sponsored by the NC Writer’s Network and even traveled to New Mexico to participate in a workshop led by Natalie Goldberg, author of, "Writing Down the Bones: Freeing the Writer Within". She continues nurturing her interest as a member of the Winston-Salem Writers.

Linda Beverly is a native of Winston-Salem and attended the Winston-Salem Forsyth County Schools. After graduating from North Forsyth High School, she was accepted at Winston-Salem State University, where she obtained a Bachelor's of Science degree in Elementary Education. She started her teaching career in Tarboro, North Carolina, and taught there for three and a half years. Afterwards, she returned to Winston-Salem as a Primary Reading Teacher at Rural Hall Elementary, and later became a full-time elementary school teacher. She has taught elementary school students in North Carolina for over thirty years. Currently, working with Kinesthetic Solutions.

Alexis Bright Tennie is a native of Baltimore, Maryland. Her childhood dream was to become a teacher. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Winston Salem State University, and a Master of School Administration degree from Appalachian State University. During her time with the Winston Salem Forsyth County School System (WSFCS), she was a kindergarten teacher assistant, kindergarten teacher, third grade teacher, and an assistant principal. Alexis retired in 2009 from the WSFCS with 30 years of experience. She fulfilled her childhood dream, excelling in the field of education. From 2010 to 2019, she was the Education Director for the Saint Peter’s Centers for Comprehensive Services, Before, After School, and Summer Academy, “Where Learning is For Life”.
